NextGen Startup Challenge Topics

The NextGen Startup Challenge fosters creativity and teamwork by uniting Korean and U.S. students in an exciting competition, enhancing global connections and innovative solutions over two dynamic weeks.

- Realistic content based on AR/VR

- Games

- Media art using realistic technology

- Autonomous driving

- Future mobility

Mentorship and Workshops

Experts from the BC CS department and Korea will offer workshops and mentoring throughout the competition.

Mentoring Sessions

It is a Collaboration and Team Activities Scheduled Between BC Students and Korean student for the Startup competition.

  • Friday, January 10th, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Team building and first activity: How to Get Started with a Startup Idea (U312 and U313) <- New Location

    • Introduce the "getting started" process and clarify expectations for the competition deliverables (e.g., presentation, flyers, prototype, etc.).

    • Share proposed themes for the project.

    • Provide guidance on leveraging mentorship from available professors for questions and clarifications.

    • Encourage collaboration among team members outside the dedicated working hours.

    • Treat this as a week-long hackathon rather than a single 24-hour event.

  • Monday, January 13th, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Startup team activity and working session (U312 and U313) <- New Location

    • Mentors from both BC and Korea will be available to guide and answer questions.

  • Wednesday, January 15th, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Continuation of team activities and progress check. (N201) <- New Location

    • Mentors from both BC and Korea will be available to guide and answer questions.

  • Tuesday, January 21st, 3:00 PM: Startup pitching preparation (BC + Korean students) (U301B) <- New Location

    • Team activities dedicated to finalizing pitches and preparing for the competition.

Final Presentation

  • Wednesday, January 22nd, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (N201) <- New Location!

    • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Team presentation practice.

    • 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Final team presentations and competition, judged by industry professionals and professors from BC and Korea.

    • 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Winner announcements, prize distribution, and celebration
